The new Facebook's policy
On January, 30 Facebook declared its new policy on cryptocurrency and ICO advertisement. "We’ve created a new policy that prohibits ads that promote financial products and services that are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices, such as binary options, initial coin offerings and cryptocurrency." — wrote product management director Rob Leathern on Facebook Business.
Kyle Forkey, crypto start-ups consultant and Ethmint founder, believes that the new policy is beneficial for the crypto environment: "it is the good step toward stabilizing the cryptocurrency sector, which has been plagued by volatility and scams recently." The change will secure new investors, and legal business won’t come to harm. But, apparently, rules are made to be broken, and some have already found loopholes in the system. Writing "BlTC0IN" instead of "bitcoin" and "IC0" instead of "ICO" are just some of the tricky examples.
