Telegram raises $850 million on its secret pre-sale
Telegram, a popular encrypted messenger, announced its ICO launching in January. So far it has raised $850 million on a secret (not so much anymore) pre-sale. The company’s founder, Pavel Durov, is seeking to double the number by getting accredited investors on board, and positions the ICO as the largest one ever: it stands to raise around $1.6 billion in total before it can go out to the public.
The official announcement was followed by multiple fake version of the ICO on social media, illicitly accruing funds for TON token that didn’t exist yet.
