Perspectives of use of Blockchain: a research by International Data Corporation
International Data Corporation (IDC) posted a research on perspectives of use of Blockchain in diverse business processes and provided a list of countries where the technology will soon become a priority, reports Bitcoin Magazine.
“Interest and investment in blockchain and distributed ledger technology (DLT) is accelerating as enterprises aggregate data into secure, sequential and immutable blockchain ledgers, transforming their businesses and operations," said Bill Fearnley, Jr., research director, Worldwide Blockchain Strategies.
Last year companies had spent $945 million on DLT technologies introduction. The number will increase in 2018 and hit $2,1 billion. According to experts, spendings on blockchain implementation will hit $9,2 billion by the end of 2021.
"Many technology vendors and service providers are collaborating and working with consortiums such as the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance and the Hyperledger Projects to develop innovative solutions that improve processes such as post-trade processing, tracking and tracing shipments in the supply chain, and transaction records for auditing and compliance. Also, multiple regulators and central banks have made positive comments about blockchain and DLT and this will help to accelerate demand in regulated industries such as financial services and healthcare."
As expected, the US will be the leader of the largest Blockchain investors. Western Europe, China and the countries of the Pacific are following.
We should mention that Ethereum Enterprise Alliance (EEA) created 3 working groups for introducing Ethereum in spheres such as digital ID, multi-platform compatibility, and energy sector.
