McAfee Introduces His Own Fiat Currency And It’s Not A Hoax

The businessman and crypto attorney shook Twitter with his announcement of “McAfee Coin” – a collectible fiat currency with his face on it. On May 29 McAfee posted a “fake dollar” created by SmartPayMint, a cryptocurrency exchange, and declared that it was an odd coincidence since the next day he was going to announce the issuance of his currency

"@SmartPayMINT sent this. What's odd is that tomorrow night I am going to make an announcement of the new "McAfee Coin", based on a radical new concept: Fiat currencies (collectible) backed by crypto - the reverse of what banks are attempting. Seriously."

The man followed the tweet with another one responding to an article on Crypto News, assuring that the currency wasn’t a hoax:

"No hoax. The "McAfee Redemption Unit" is real and coming in 26 days. The graphic is low res - don't want to give much away yet. Printed on currency paper, holographs on both sides, serialized, linked to the blockchain, redeemable, convertible, collectible"

So-called McAfee Redemption Unit will be connected to a blockchain by tokens and can be redeemed for up to 100 minutes of personal time spent with him anywhere in the world. To redeem the note for a personal meeting, holders must appear in Mexico between 1:00 and 3:00 pm, where they will be given a date, time, and location anywhere in the world to meet with McAfee. One Unit is currently worth $9.95 and the total amount of bills is limited to 6.05 million.

The Twitter community views McAfee's announcement with suspicion, but no doubt the coming-up currency has already intrigued the masses. It is expected to be issued in 24 days counting from today, May 31, 2018.
