Germany does not tax cryptocurrencies
The government of Germany pointed out that cryptocurrencies are becoming an equivalent to legal means of payment. On Thursday, March 1, Ministry of Finance of Germany signed the decision to make Bitcoin an official form of currency. What’s more, according to the decision, a conversion from crypto to fiat or vice versa is classified as “other taxable services”. A party that is acting as an intermediary for this exchange will not be taxed, and operators of crypto exchanges can also get tax exemptions, “if they complete the purchase and sale of Bitcoin as an intermediary on their own behalf.” Miner fees will not be taxed either since they are paid on a voluntary basis.
