Malta approved 3 Blockchain and crypto bills in the 2nd reading in Parliament yesterday, June 26. The first two of them, Technology Arrangements and Services Bill and the Virtual Financial Assets Bill, provide regulation of digital ledger technologies under the control of the Malta Digital Innovation Authority. The third one, The Malta Digital Innovation Authority Bill, is established to “promote consistent principles for the development of visions, skills, and other qualities relating to technology innovation”. Local media Times of Malta confirmed Stephen McCarthy’s position of CEO of the Malta Digital Innovation Authority. Previously McCarthy served as the CEO of Malta’s Housing Authority. The country has been attracting more crypto exchanges lately due to its friendly legislation, among them OKEx, BitBay and Binance.
