The South Indian State of Kerala will utilize Blockchain to distribute dairy products, vegetables, and fish. The Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) is heading the project which will also use the Internet of Things (IoT) technology to make the supply network work efficiently.
Each component of the supply will have a unique ID number to monitor its origin and quality. What's more, for farmers suffering crop losses the state will create a crop insurance scheme based on Blockchain. The scheme will help recognize whether the loss took place due to natural causes or other factors, as well as eliminate the need for third-party representatives in the insurance business.
