Bitcoin in DNA
Scientist Nick Goldman issued the Bitcoin Challenge at World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, January 2015, after he had presented the new way of digital information storage — in DNA. He coded 1 BTC and promised it to one the one who would reach the information. One week before the deadline Sander Wuyts, University of Antwerp PhD student, decoded it. Wuyts avows that didn’t believe in the use of DNA to store data, but the competition made him change his mind. The new technology offers huge opportunities. December, 14 Intel applied for patent on use of Blockchain to decode DNA and RNA molecules.
